About The Position

The Card Specialist position at the Central Bank involves supporting credit card products for both consumers and corporate cardholders. This role includes managing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and collaborating with vendors to implement new products. The specialist will ensure accurate processing of credit card applications and provide support to cardholders and front-line staff in resolving issues related to card transactions and account management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (Some post-secondary education preferred)
  • Two+ years' banking experience with knowledge of various card products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, experience with Access is a plus
  • Excellent typing and 10 key number pad/calculator skills
  • Strong computer and paper file management and organization skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, negotiation skills, problem solving, and analysis
  • Valid Kentucky driver's license
  • Ability to multi-task while working under multiple daily timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of debit card and credit card systems and related inquiries
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good customer service and issue resolution skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Fiserv and/or Visa products
  • Knowledge of credit card secondary products like CardHub and SpendTrack

Responsibilities

  • Verifies new consumer credit cards, corporate credit cards, and HELOC accounts for discrepancies.
  • Uploads new credit card accounts into the system and ensures all documents are completed correctly.
  • Sends paperwork to Image Processing and verifies images in Nautilus for accuracy.
  • Provides second line product and card processing support to cardholders and front-line staff.
  • Inputs maintenance to card accounts including refunding fees and processing balance transfer requests.
  • Serves as liaison for Corporate Services and corporate cardholders, assisting with ongoing customer service.
  • Maintains knowledge of various credit card secondary products and assists customers in developing their needs.
  • Assists with the Quarterly Spend Report for corporate cards and prepares checks for corporate customers.
  • Processes and approves checks written on the Platinum Equity Lines, verifying funds and signatures.
  • Assists with maintaining maturing PEL accounts and processes cash items on card transactions.
  • Performs regular audits of retained and returned card logs for accuracy.
  • Clears overdrafts on accounts linked to credit card guarantee checking.
  • Reviews and researches credit card statements returned in the mail for address changes.
  • Prepares lien releases for paid off or modified Equity Lines and works with county clerk offices.
  • Answers incoming calls regarding debit and credit card transactions and services.
  • Assists with various daily tasks including posting backdated payments and replying to cardholder requests.
  • Maintains security and dual control for ATM access and cash handling.
  • Cross trains on other department responsibilities and performs other duties as assigned.
