Responsible for processing, posting, and balancing card accounts. Researches and resolves card processing disputes, processes charge backs, and adjusts members' accounts. Completes related reports and records and maintains files. Professionally assists members and vendors and notifies them as needed. Performs related clerical duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES 1. Assumes responsibility for the effective and timely performance of assigned card processing functions. a. Review applications received by mail, fax or through internet banking for completeness and eligibility. b. Open new ATM and MasterCard debit accounts and implements procedures to enter new accounts into the computer system together with limits and any other special conditions of use. c. Accountable for all card control, including: ordering, replacement of lost or stolen cards, restricting usage, modifying daily spending limits, changing PIN numbers and issuing additional cards. d. Research problems related to member’s accounts and handle inquiries, problems, adjustments, changes in daily limits, and processes appropriate written notices to confirm changes and authorizations. e. Assist members with internet banking and bill payer electronic services. f. Maintains and updates files as required. g. Monthly report maintenance essential to maintaining the card portfolio. Performs such other administrative functions which are essential to the proper operation of the card programs or as might be assigned by the supervisor. 2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional business relations with members, institutions, and merchants. a. Obtains and conveys information as needed. Composes correspondence as needed. b. Resolves (or refers) questions and requests promptly and courteously. c. Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies. d. Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation. e. Maintains confidentiality. 3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management. a. Assists branches and related departments as needed. Answers questions and resolves problems as needed. b. Supports and replaces card processing personnel as needed. c. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. d. Attends and participates in meetings as required. 4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. a. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. b. Sorts and distributes interoffice mail. Copies and distributes requests and representments. c. Completes special projects as assigned. d. Stays abreast of changes in card processing operations and policies
