Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure, spanning site selection, development, and operations. Our global footprint includes more than 400 datacenters in 34 countries, supported by over 165,000 miles of fiber optic cable. These facilities form the backbone of Microsoft Azure and are central to our commitment to reliable, secure, and sustainable digital infrastructure. The Microsoft Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) team is charged with procuring high-quality carbon removal to meet Microsoft’s ambitious goal of becoming carbon negative by 2030. To this end, the CDR team seeks a high-performing, curiosity-driven individual to join our team as a Carbon Removal Buyer. This position will join one of our existing deal teams charged with originating high-quality, innovative carbon removal projects - and negotiating the transactions that will get those projects built. The ideal candidate will have procurement experience in carbon or other environmental markets, bring a commercial execution-oriented mindset, and take a hands-on approach to shaping CDR opportunities into creative, first-of-a-kind deals working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
