We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply. A brighter future is possible with you . Job Summary We are currently seeking a Carbon Capture & Utilization Storage Intern for Summer 2026 . Preference is for this position to be located in Columbus, OH., or Houston, TX, but can be remote. The application deadline is Feb 17, 2026. Our Commercial CCUS Division in the Environment & Infrastructure Business Unit specializes in providing Commercial storage solutions to carbon dioxide emitters. We use advanced earth science tools, methods, and models to characterize geologic systems for long term storage of CO2. Our clients include ethanol, ammonia, gas processing, electric utilities, and others. Passive seismic monitoring is a key element in all Carbon Capture & Sequestration (CCS) CO2 injection monitoring programs. Accurate and sufficiently sensitive microseismic arrays are critical for both event detection and correct event placement in the subsurface. A critical component of event detection is noise level at the seismometer stations and how it varies with depth in a shallow borehole. Using existing VSP datasets from current CCS projects, noise records as a function of depth can be extracted. These noise records can then be fed into sensitivity algorithms to yield minimum recoverable seismic event magnitude estimations. Having magnitude estimations as a function of burial depth allows for a more informed microseismic array design that can effectively balance cost with technical and regulatory requirements.
