About The Position

Midway Group is the go-to company for all things automotive. We are the leading supplier of vehicle acquisition and car prep services nationwide for marketing activations, video production, engineering evaluations, media launches and press events. With the addition of our creative studio and event space, MG Studio , we are a full-service automotive partner to our clients offering them a flexible space to host events such as press launches, media campaign photoshoots, vehicle debuts and private parties. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Car Prep Lead Technician to oversee day-to-day fleet operations while providing hands-on support across logistics, vehicle prep, and event operations.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record with no drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years; No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years; No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period. Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring
  • Minimum 3 years of licensed driving history
  • Pass background; inclusive of Pre-Employment Drug Test, SSN Validation, and Criminal Record
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a positive, high-energy attitude and team-first mindset
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to travel, sometimes out of state, for client programs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to drive and operate a wide range of vehicle types

Nice To Haves

  • Passion for the automotive industry strongly preferred
  • Previous automotive industry experience – car prep, vehicle washing, detailing, or fleet operations – strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Fleet & Vehicle Operations Serve as the day-to-day lead for vehicle fleet maintenance and readiness
  • Ensure all vehicles are consistently clean, detailed, fueled/charged, and presentation-ready
  • Coordinate vehicle service appointments, software updates, inspections, and repairs
  • Track all vehicle inventory, mileage, condition reports, and damage documentation
  • Conduct thorough vehicle check-ins and check-outs with detailed condition records
  • Logistics & Deliveries Safely deliver and retrieve vehicles to and from local clients, dealerships, body shops, and vendors
  • Support vehicle transportation logistics and scheduling
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of vehicle prep and tech workstations
  • Manage inventory and replenishment of car wash, detailing, and prep supplies
  • Client & Account Support Provide onsite support for client programs, activations, and shoots
  • Interface professionally with clients and partners during deliveries and events
  • Identify potential upsell opportunities and relay them to the Account Management team
  • Support additional automotive services including onsite car prep, de-badging, detailing, and transport coordination
  • MG Studio & Event Support Assist with general maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of MG Studio, including: Interior spaces Parking lot and exterior areas Storage areas and trailers
  • Assist with event setup and tear-down as needed
  • Support cross-functional projects and operational needs as assigned
