About The Position

General Purpose of Job: Description: Positions Location: Carson City, MI Job Description General Purpose of Job : Performs general maintenance and security for Sparrow Carson Hospital property. Essential Duties : This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Accurately conducts scheduled tours of all staff work area both on and off Hospital grounds. Appropriately applies approved preventive and detention measures in the event of burglary, theft, vandalism or other criminal acts on the grounds. Appropriately monitors and takes action in controlling violent individuals and locating patients. Assists nursing staff in appropriately controlling hostile admissions and unwanted visitors as directed or as necessary Appropriately serves as liaison between Sparrow Carson Hospital and Carson City Police Department and the Montcalm County Sheriff's Department Timely removes snow from sidewalk, parking lots and salts same. Performs timely and thorough inspections of Hospital safety systems as well as scheduled fire disaster drills Has familiarity with Hospital disaster plans and is able to implement them as necessary Responds appropriately to auto or personal accidents on hospital grounds and expedite appropriate medical attention and/or accident reports. As directed, prepares hospital owned vehicles Quickly prepares helicopter landing pad Wears Hospital beeper and 2 way radio as necessary and responds timely Works appropriately without supervision on the assigned shift and is fully responsible for accomplishing assigned tasks. Performs other maintenance duties as required or as requested Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
Attendance is an essential element of this position
Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Two to three years of maintenance or construction experience
Experience in security helpful

Responsibilities
