Produces ultrasonic recordings of the heart for use by the Cardiologist in the diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction to patients as assigned by supervisors and given on the physician's written order for both in house and out patient care. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Appropriately selects and uses equipment in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination Accurately explains process to patient and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination Supervises and trains student sonographers as requested Communicates with, assists, and reviews images with Cardiologist as needed or requested Responsible for keeping all ultrasound equipment Collects QI data as necessary May be required to perform other diagnostic procedures. Diagnostic procedures may include, cardiac stress testing, cardiac event monitoring, Echocardiograms, Electroencephalograms, Holter monitoring, and Electrocardiograms
