About The Position

HII - Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Capture Manager who will perform all aspects of capture efforts to grow new business for HII - MT. This position will be based out of our McLean, VA location. As a Capture Manager you will work closely with the business development team, technical leadership, program management and executive leadership, as well as with key customer points of contact, to evaluate opportunities and coordinate required responses including potential solutions that meet technical requirements, financial and schedule targets, rough order of magnitude pricing estimates, and full proposal submittals. The Capture Manager must be execution oriented, while also thinking strategically about emerging customer needs, competitive positioning, requisite capabilities, and the tactics needed to enable the company to capture opportunity in new and emerging markets. This position requires a highly organized individual with a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and the ability to effectively coordinate with multiple teams across the organization. The successful candidate develops compelling proposals, manages complex bids, and leads capture teams to success.

Requirements

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation (briefing executive leadership), customer communications and organizational skills.
  • Experience/understanding in engineering and/or program management.
  • Articulate a business and technical vision with strategic thinking.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership team as well as other personnel.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Multi-tasking and time management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Travel up 25% of the time as needed.
  • Secret Clearance.

  • Located in Target Customer areas (McClean, VA; National Capital Region).
  • Extensive knowledge, experience, and success in the entire capture process are required and solid experience in all contract types (e.g., FFP, T&M, cost plus), as well as OTAs, CSOs, and non-IDIQ/IDIQ single or multiple award contracts (e.g., GAS AAS, IAC MAC).
  • Experience w/ Department of Defense (DoW), or Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Current or ability to obtain TS clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Build customer relationships through strong interpersonal communication, and an ability to identify innovative technologies that offer solutions to customer requirements.
  • Maintain critical customer relationship in conjunction with program management to ensure lasting relationships and customer satisfaction.
  • Secure work that supports current company capabilities and skill sets and expands/develops to future innovations.
  • Participate in business capture planning activities including pipeline review meetings.
  • Manage pursuits from Gate 2, transition to capture, through technical approach, proposal generation, submittal, and award.
  • Oversee complex bids and proposals, and lead teams to success.
  • Define, establish, and execute on win strategies for pursuits that demonstrate HII MTC’s value proposition to customers.
  • Lead Black Hat, Blue Team, Win Strategy, and Discriminators Session to increase the probability of win.
  • Provide guidance and support to capture teams on technical, pricing, and contractual issues.
  • Ensure that all bids are compliant with customer requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying applicable internal and external resources and working with the team in the pursuit of opportunities.
  • Generate proposal pricing in collaboration with the proposal team and leveraging relevant historical cost data.
  • Ensure successful transition to project teams upon contract award.
