About The Position

Somewear’s software platform and satellite-powered hardware enable commercial and government teams to maintain situational awareness during high-pressure operations — in any environment. From the Arctic to the Indo-Pacific, Somewear’s technology is trusted by those operating on the edge of connectivity to keep teams in touch, informed, and safe. Our mission is to save lives by enabling critical communications for the world’s most important teams. We’re seeking a mission-driven Capture Manager to lead go-to-market and growth efforts across U.S. Army and conventional forces, with a focus on unmanned and autonomous systems. This role will align Somewear’s capabilities to emerging Army modernization priorities across UxS, counter-UAS, and distributed formations, while working closely with system integrators and OEM partners to embed our solutions into broader architectures and programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in capture, business development, or sales within defense, preferably with Army or conventional force exposure
  • Strong familiarity with unmanned systems (UAS, UGV, USV), autonomy concepts, and tactical edge operations
  • Experience working with or alongside system integrators and OEMs within defense programs
  • Working knowledge of Army acquisition structures, including PAEs/CPEs and organizations like PIT
  • Understanding of Army funding and acquisition pathways (OTA, SBIR, program of record, rapid acquisition)
  • Ability to operate across both operational units and acquisition organizations
  • Technical fluency to engage across product, engineering, and customer stakeholders
  • Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL or Fort Benning, GA (Columbus, GA)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and capture opportunities across Army and conventional force units, with emphasis on unmanned systems, autonomy, and counter-UAS
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders across Army program offices, units, labs, system integrators, and OEMs
  • Position Somewear’s capabilities within formation-level use cases, including dismounted operations, unmanned integration, and edge networking
  • Align solutions to Army modernization priorities such as SWaP-C, DDIL environments, open architecture (MOSA), and system-of-systems integration
  • Shape and influence efforts across UxS, autonomy, and tactical networking programs, including alignment with PAE/CPE structures
  • Engage with and navigate Pathways for Innovation and Technology (PIT) and other rapid acquisition mechanisms to accelerate adoption
  • Lead teaming, pricing, and strategy for proposals in collaboration with internal teams and partners
  • Drive cross-functional execution across Mission Ops, Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering to advance capture efforts
  • Coordinate and support exercises, demos, and field evaluations with operational units and partners
  • Maintain situational awareness on Army budgets, transformation efforts, acquisition pathways, and capability gaps
