About The Position

The ideal candidate will contribute to the growth of revenue by serving as a trusted advisor and technical specialist supporting captive insurance program development, actuarial analysis, feasibility studies, and ongoing captive operations. This role requires strong knowledge of exposure data collection, loss analysis, actuarial concepts, and captive insurance structures. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep experience across Workers’ Compensation (WC), Auto Liability (AL), General Liability (GL), and Professional Liability (PL) risks. The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role. Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of captive insurance experience, preferably with exposure to multiple lines including WC, AL, GL, and PL.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial concepts such as loss development, exposure analysis, reserving, and pricing—able to work independently without extensive training.
  • Direct experience within actuarial analysis, underwriting, captive consulting, or alternative risk financing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Actuarial & Analytical Support Gather and validate exposure data including payroll, sales, mileage, and other key business indicators used in actuarial modeling.
  • Review insurance policies and loss runs, perform trend analysis, and interpret loss payment patterns and loss development consistent with captive feasibility and reserving practices.
  • Contribute to actuarial components of feasibility studies including loss projections, premium rate development, and reserve analyses, aligned with industry standards for captive feasibility work.
  • Assist with financial modeling including pro forma balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, and capital adequacy considerations as typical in captive insurance consulting.
  • Captive Feasibility & Program Design Produce key sections of feasibility studies, including risk assessments, structure recommendations, domicile considerations, reinsurance options, and long-term financial viability analyses.
  • Support evaluation of captive structures for cost reduction, control of risk, and capacity enhancement, consistent with feasibility frameworks used across the industry.
  • Analyze fronting, reinsurance, and capitalization requirements necessary for captive formation and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support post-formation, including reserve reviews, premium allocation, and performance reporting in line with common captive consulting practices.
