About The Position

The Capital Sales Consultant, Sports for Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Synthes division is responsible for driving sales and achieving objectives for various capital equipment products within the North Central US territory. This role involves collaboration with local sales teams, developing business plans, and building relationships with clinical and economic stakeholders to understand customer needs and drive sales growth. The consultant will also ensure customer satisfaction and retention through effective product deployment and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in capital equipment, medical device, or surgical sales; or an Associate's degree and 5 years of relevant sales experience; or 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of education; or certification as a Surgical Technician with 4 years of relevant experience; or 3 years of relevant sales experience for recently transitioned Active Duty Military personnel.
  • Interest in Medical Devices, Software, Hospital IT, and Video Technology.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) including overnight travel within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work in a lab/operating room environment and near radiation equipment, with the ability to lift 50 lbs. and wear protective gear.
  • Valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 States.
  • Self-motivated, organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and results-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in capital equipment sales, medical device sales, or surgical sales is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply knowledge of sports procedures in the arthroscopic space to sell the DePuy Synthes Sports Capital Product Portfolio.
  • Develop and execute quarterly business plans for targeted accounts in partnership with local sales teams.
  • Build relationships with clinical and economic champions to understand customer needs and identify capital sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop appropriate capital offerings and drive sales growth.
  • Present and negotiate capital pricing and program performance terms with customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through effective product usage and support.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of assigned capital equipment products and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute customer-specific sales strategies.
  • Report any complaints or technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Travel to meet and support customers with technical product issues as needed.
