About The Position

The Capital Project Manager provides services in operational services areas, including the development of specifications for projects, concept development, and project management. In conjunction with supervisory staff, the Project Manager is responsible to plan, direct and oversee the capital projects while ensuring they adhere to budget. The Project Manager provides departmental input and direction in support of the organization’s goals through training and feedback to management. The Project Manager is also responsible for maintaining work systems; processes and procedures; and policies that enable optimal performance for projects and personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management, Facilities Management or related field.
  • Two to Four years of experience
  • Minimum of one project management experience >= $500,000
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD software experience preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Other certifications (CFM, LEED AP) a plus

Responsibilities

  • With feedback from the Manager of Capital Projects, develops project specific requirements to implement Board approved projects used for securing proposals, quotes, or bids for the work, and provides Library side project management to ensure successful projects.
  • Supports the Manager of Capital Projects in developing short term capital projects in response to established goals for patron services.
  • Identifies and corrects operational services quality issues. Researches the needs of the end user to ensure facilities standards are maintained in IndyPL facilities.
  • Supports the Chief Operational Services Officer and the Safety & Security Officer in the maintenance of the Emergency Operations Plan and Business Continuity Plan.
  • Processes invoices and requests purchase orders through MUNIS.
  • Maintains relationships with outside vendors.
  • Able to work outside normal operating hours to accommodate meetings and operational services functions.
  • Able to cope with daily job-related stress.
  • Assists with preparing IndyPL Board briefing reports and action items on a monthly basis
  • Secures required regulatory approvals for equipment
  • Promotes awareness of recycling and resource conservation practices
  • Advises the OS staff on new developments in facilities, furniture and design
  • Performs other job duties and responsibilities as assigned
