As a Capital Projects Engineer Intern at Vanguard, you will gain insights into the daily operations of corporate offices. This internship will provide you with a thorough understanding of building operations through field surveys, building automation systems, and the review of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection drawings. You will learn about the design process, including reviews and total cost of ownership that drive scope decisions. Additionally, you will participate in construction progress walks for quality assurance and owner acceptance, manage project processes, and understand the fundamentals of project scope, schedule, and budget. You will also be involved in project budget management, which includes descoping bids, reviewing change orders, invoicing, and projecting cash flow. Collaboration with staff and presenting ideas will be key components of your role.
