About The Position

We are seeking a Capital Procurement Category Manager to lead procurement and sourcing activities for a major greenfield manufacturing plant build in Defiance, Ohio. This role will play a critical part in managing construction-related spend, supporting capital project execution, and ensuring cost, quality, and timeline objectives are met. This is a high-impact, project-driven role with visibility across Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field)
Strong experience in procurement/sourcing within manufacturing environmentsConsumer products or high-speed manufacturing preferred
Proven experience in construction procurement and capital projects (CAPEX)
Experience supporting plant builds, expansions, or large-scale projects
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership experience (formal or informal team leadership)

Responsibilities

Lead all procurement activities related to construction and capital projects (CAPEX) for a new plant build
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for construction services, equipment, and materials
Manage supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, and contract negotiations
Support capital projects from planning through execution and completion
Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams to align procurement with project timelines
Ensure on-time delivery of materials and services to support construction milestones
Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to drive cost savings and value
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues impacting project delivery
Analyze spend, market trends, and cost drivers to inform sourcing decisions
Track budgets and ensure alignment with CAPEX targets
Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Lead cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders
Coach, mentor, and support team members as needed
Drive accountability and performance across procurement activities
