About The Position

The Capital Markets Associate plays a key role in supporting whole loan trading, pricing, and portfolio management activities within the firm’s Capital Markets Team. This role focuses on data-driven analysis, transaction execution, and reporting across agency, non-agency, and CRA loan sales, as well as other transactions. The Capital Markets Associate utilizes advanced quantitative and programming skills with an understanding of mortgage capital markets to enhance analytics, optimize execution, and support strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in capital markets, mortgage trading, or financial data analytics, preferred.
  • Solid understanding of residential mortgage products, agency guidelines, and whole loan execution, preferred.
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, with experience managing and interpreting large datasets.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python required; experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Sigma, Tableau) preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity in a dynamic, results-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in capital markets, mortgage trading, or financial data analytics, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution and analysis of whole loan trades, securitizations, and related capital markets transactions.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools, models, and dashboards to monitor pricing, performance, and market trends.
  • Manage and analyze large datasets from multiple internal and external sources to support trade decisions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with trading, finance, and operations teams to ensure accurate trade setup, delivery, and settlement.
  • Contribute to pricing strategy, performance evaluation, and market execution analyses.
  • Prepare presentations and reporting materials for senior management and trading committees.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data infrastructure, improve process efficiency, and strengthen decision-support tools.
