About The Position

STV is seeking a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Architect for the Buildings group in the NYC market. The selected candidate must have experience leading several multi-discipline project teams (including subconsultants) concurrently and demonstrated ability to obtain approvals and permits in compliance with local codes, ordinances, and land development, historical, and environmental regulations, in providing professional design services for construction and infrastructure efforts that improve, expand, or replace long-term property assets. Responsibilities: • Manage all elements of project work including scope development, qualifications and proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, budgeting, scheduling, staff management, design coordination, change management, cost estimating, bidding support, construction administration, cost control, project communications and documentation, and cash management. • Develop and enhance client relationships; serve as the primary company contact; and deliver quality projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client and according to internal standards and policies. • Administer relevant aspects of a formal quality program including performing quality checking and ensuring the quality program is adhered to. • Provide leadership to project teams and facilitate collective problem-solving efforts to find solutions to complex project challenges in fast-paced environments. • Achieve or exceed each project’s estimated profit margin. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in architecture. RA license, PMP and/or sustainability certification is a plus. • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in managing industrial, government, healthcare, transportation, and/or educational facilities design projects. • Project experience with capital improvement plans and projects—such as roof and window replacement, elevator upgrades, MEPFP system upgrades, code compliance, façade and finish upgrades—is required. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, including proficiency in writing technical reports and project correspondence. • Experience working with specifications packages such as Masterspec, SpecText and/or SpecsIntact is desirable. • Ability to work on diverse projects across markets and have a willingness to learn. • Ability to perform project management responsibilities, working independently and in coordination with other team members, fellow Project Managers, and company leadership. • Adaptability, resourcefulness, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to varying business situations while representing the best interests of the company. • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple clients at varying stages of design and/or construction completion. • Experience with MS Office Suite software including scheduling software (MS Project). • AutoCAD/Revit experience is a plus.
