The position involves managing all plant-specific and program-specific procurement needs, including series production, indirect purchasing, and facility/MRO needs. The role requires leading the RFQ process to quote supplier needs, negotiate pricing and terms, and properly contract all new business awards within defined budgets. Interaction with the program team, plant, suppliers, and customers is essential, along with participation in relevant team meetings. The implementation of purchasing processes and objectives within the program is a key responsibility, as is managing and communicating all purchasing issues related to the program, including engineering change orders. The candidate will develop and manage sourcing strategies in adherence with the purchasing manager, lead the value analysis process, and prepare sourcing recommendations. Additionally, the role involves managing commercial details on all purchasing parts, exploring the market for new materials, supplies, and processes to develop new sources, and initiating cost-saving projects. The candidate must ensure adequate contracted capacities at suppliers and has the authority to stop production for safety-related matters requiring immediate attention. Interaction with HBPO Operations and current production facilities for supplier-related topics throughout the program life is also required, along with a strong understanding and compliance with the company's EHS policy. Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret data to make recommendations are crucial, as well as reporting and presentation abilities.
