About The Position

The Capacity Representative position reports directly to the Operations Manager while working closely with Account Managers and Sales Representatives. Capacity Representatives work in a competitive, fast -paced, and high-performance environment.

Requirements

Excellent communication skills
Basic understanding of the Logistics Industry
Proficient with computer-based shipping databases.
Excellent time management skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

Manage load distribution from bookings to over the road (OTR) and delivery
Examine loads following pick up and upon delivery to verify conformance to customer specifications and DOT regulations
Oversee and manage OTR operations by tracking and tracing customer freight
Contract dedicated carriers dependent on domestic capacity
Ensure compliance with directives, DOT standards, and company policies
Negotiate carrier rates based upon market averages
Approve and issue accessorial payments
Administer carrier contracts with dedicate lane prices, terms and conditions, and other contract modifications and settlements
Participate in weekly team meetings to evaluate and adhere to customer needs
Collaborate with and assist Account Managers and Sales Executives
Participate in creating solutions to carrier “fall off”, claims and product OSD’s (overages, shortages, damages)
Analyze carrier insurance policies to ensure they comply with AMX policies
Work and familiarize with special operations such as transloading, dropping of trailers, power only, OSOW (oversized, overweight), and other special provisions
