About The Position

Responsible for the strategic leadership of Geisinger's Acute and Diagnostic Services. Ensures that all of the Acute and Diagnostic Services goals and objectives are aligned with Geisinger's broader mission, vision and strategies. The position is the top Acute and Diagnostic Services administrative executive and is in a dyad partnership with the Acute and Diagnostic Services Chief Medical Officer.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree-Business Administration/Healthcare Management (Required)
  • Minimum of 10 years-Healthcare (Required)
  • Minimum of 10 years-Leadership (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures patient-centric high quality and cost-effective care in defined areas including but not limited to, the surgical suite, diagnostic services (Laboratory and Radiology), GPS, GEMS/ Lifeflight
  • Provides strong leadership and direction in setting strategic and long-range objectives with clearly defined objectives for the areas of responsibility: Quality and patient safety with a focus on zero harm, operational efficiency and effectiveness, patient experience and Staff engagement
  • Achieves System balanced scorecard objectives across all strategic priorities.
  • Improves patient access 5-star metrics- maintains compliance and assures programs and services meet all regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Participates in the selection, training, and mentoring and development of staff
  • Creates an environment that supports employee and physician satisfaction
  • Grows strategic plans
  • Achieves operating margin targets
  • Ensures efficient and cost-effective use of non-clinical resources in order to maintain a productive environment
  • Develops accurate operational and capital budgets
  • Partners and collaborates with other chief administrative officers and medical officers to achieve the highest quality of patient care, patient experience, maintenance of efficient hospital throughput and financial health
  • Evaluates regularly the effectiveness of programs and services and implements changes as necessary to promote strategic and operational effectiveness.
  • Understands, supports and participates in information technology, development, marketing, and public relations initiatives.
  • Maintains positive relationships with various positions throughout the organization, reaches out and is connected to the community and governing authorities.
  • Participates in system initiatives upon request
  • Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
