As Canvassing Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing door-to-door canvassing team responsible for generating qualified appointments for our roofing and exterior services sales team. Your primary mission is to build a motivated, high-energy team that consistently generates leads through effective territory management, strong training, and disciplined execution of proven door-to-door strategies. The Canvassing Manager will drive the performance and growth of the lead generation organization in pursuit of being the (1) Contractor of Choice for homeowners and the (2) Employer of Choice for employees. You will lead from the front by actively canvassing in the field, coaching your team through ride-along, and developing a culture built on accountability, positivity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of door-to-door, outside sales, or direct marketing experience.
  • Proven track record in lead generation or appointment setting.
  • Strong ability to motivate and lead a performance-driven team.
  • Experience coaching others and improving performance through training and feedback.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership experience managing canvassing or door-to-door sales teams.
  • Experience in roofing, home improvement, or residential services industries.
  • Experience tracking and managing KPI-driven performance metrics.
  • Background in building and scaling field-based teams.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard high-performing canvassing representatives.
  • Train team members on door-to-door sales techniques, objection handling, and effective lead generation strategies.
  • Conduct daily morning meetings focused on motivation, training, and performance expectations.
  • Provide ongoing coaching through ride-alongs and real-time feedback in the field.
  • Build a competitive, positive, and high-energy team culture that drives results and retention.
  • Lead and manage a door-to-door team responsible for generating appointments for roofing, siding, window, and door consultations.
  • Set and manage daily, weekly, and monthly lead generation targets.
  • Track and report key performance metrics including:
  • Doors knocked
  • Contacts made
  • Appointments set
  • Sit rates
  • Demos per hour
  • Analyze team and individual performance data to identify coaching opportunities and improve results.
  • Lead by example through active field canvassing alongside the team.
  • Provide real-time coaching and feedback during ride-alongs and field visits.
  • Manage and optimize territories to maximize lead generation opportunities.
  • Ensure team members execute their territory plans effectively and consistently.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to ensure smooth handoff of qualified appointments.
