About The Position
The Canton Public Schools is looking for a dynamic educator who values equity, social emotional learning and provides access to learning experiences for all students to oversee our Summer Enrichment Program: Canton Academy. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in building and sustaining strong relationships with students and families, and value ongoing collaboration with colleagues. Canton Academy will run in July-early August 2026 , and the Director must be available from 8am-3pm during July and August. The Director will begin working now to recruit and hire staff and work through the completion of the program in August. The Canton Academy Director will collaborate with summer staff to ensure the successful implementation of our 2026 Summer Enrichment Programs. Requirements
- MA Certification required
- Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
Nice To Haves
- Masters Degree Preferred
- 3 years+ Experience Preferred
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to educational equity and instructional excellence
- Provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment for all learners
- Recruit and hire necessary staff to ensure adequate staffing for on site programs to serve approximately 400 students
- Supervise all staff, including teachers, nurses and assistants.
- Create marketing brochure and materials
- Enroll students through online process
- Collaborate with staff to ensure development of curriculum for each course offering
- Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues and administrators to ensure the successful student experience in our summer program
- Provide student support as needed during summer program operation
- Work with central office staff to ensure necessary operations are completed, including payroll and transportation
- Collaborate with administrative staff upon the completion of the programs to assess program effectiveness and complete necessary tasks for program completion
