About The Position

Canoe Livery Attendant I Starting Hourly Rate: $16.93 Work Schedule: Season is April to October. Actual number of hours worked per week is contingent upon weather conditions and time of year. Fun outdoor and physical job working in our river parks. Flexible hours, does require working weekends and holidays, working between 20 and 40 hours per week. Work with a team of livery staff at our popular boat rentals providing customers with a river experience. Enjoy time on the river for boat rentals are free for employees. Work is outdoors with a team at both the Argo and Gallup Livery locations. Works under Assistant Facility Supervisors and the Recreation Supervisor. Duties will include the handling and care of the canoes, kayaks and other boats, assisting patrons with boat rentals and performing various assigned maintenance and repair tasks. May exert up to 80 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of forces constantly to move objects.

Requirements

Minimum age requirement of 16 years
Good communication and customer service skills including being friendly, helpful and knowledgeable when assisting park customers
Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow oral and written instructions without close supervision
Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The city offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division.
