The job of Cannon Music Camp Director has many responsibilities and is a year-round administrative commitment. The director will provide leadership for over 250 campers and faculty during the three-week camp session, set the daily camp schedule, assign teaching, plan curriculum and administrative duties, secure facilities, administer a budget in excess of $400,000, set camp prices for the following year, consult with various university departments, oversee contracts for faculty and staff, calculate salaries, award scholarships, interview and hire faculty and staff, and develop long-term sustainability plans for the camp. The director will also develop connections between the Cannon Music Camp and the Hayes School of Music to enhance recruitment and align curriculum.
