As a Cancer Screening Advocate, you will play a vital role to ensure timely access to care for thousands of patients who need to get screened for cancer. In this role, you will coordinate screening appointments with external facilities, serve as the key link between patients, Color’s care team, and ensure every step of the scheduling process is smooth, supportive, and well-documented.

  • Must have access to a quiet, private, and secure location to work, ensuring protection of patient health information (PHI) and compliance with HIPAA standards

Responsibilities

  • Appointment scheduling: Call health care facilities to collect availability and book appointments on patients’ behalf, based on the patient’s facility and scheduling preferences. Assist patients in understanding out of pocket cost.
  • Facility verification and sourcing: Update facilities database to ensure accurate and reliable information. Identify suitable facilities for patients based on their insurance, location and preference, and confirm that the facility is able to perform the procedure, is in network, and can accommodate the patient.
  • Results Retrieval & Upload: Obtain results from appointments and referrals from facilities. Reach out via fax and phone. Review and triage the inbound fax queue, and upload documents and results appropriately.
  • Patient Communication: Inform patients of their scheduled appointments promptly and provide necessary details (location, preparation instructions, etc.). Respond to patient inquiries
  • Documentation: Accurately record all appointment and order or referral details in Color’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Problem-solving: Address scheduling conflicts, rescheduling needs, or access issues with empathy and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care and support.
  • Patient Support: Respond to patient inquiries and support tickets promptly, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
