About The Position

Work Schedule: This is a full time, 1.0 FTE position. Flexible 8-10 hour shifts will be scheduled Monday-Friday. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Applicants hired into this position can work from most states and this will be discussed during the interview process. We are seeking a Cancer Registry Technician to: Review medical records to identify cases for inclusion in the Cancer Registry using coding knowledge and registry specifications. Interpret complex medical information in the medical record to enter follow up outcomes for Cancer cases. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Or higher in healthcare related field Required
  • Three (3) years of cancer data abstraction experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to experience below Required
  • 1 year Of healthcare experience involving medical terminology, cancer data abstraction or a cancer related field Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree In Cancer Information Management (CIM) Preferred
  • 3 years Of healthcare experience involving medical terminology, cancer data abstraction or a cancer related field Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review medical records to identify cases for inclusion in the Cancer Registry using coding knowledge and registry specifications.
