About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cancer Registry Associate to join our team in Towson, United States. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate and comprehensive cancer registry data, contributing to vital research and improving patient care. Collect, analyze, and manage cancer-related data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness Abstract pertinent information from medical records and enter data into cancer registry software Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather additional information when needed Ensure compliance with cancer registry standards, guidelines, and regulations Participate in quality control activities to maintain data integrity Generate reports and assist in data analysis for research purposes Stay updated on changes in cancer registry processes and coding systems Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Requirements

  • Associate's or equivalent training in Health Information Technology/ Medical Records or related field is required.
  • Previous experience in cancer registry or related healthcare data management
  • Proficiency in cancer registry software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong data entry and management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, cancer staging, and coding systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Understanding of cancer registry processes, guidelines, and HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers and team members

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) strongly preferred
