Department: 37329 Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center - Nursing: Cancer Registry Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: This position can be a remote position that does have some flexibility but does require some meetings through teams or in person. Requirements
- Advanced computer skills necessary.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills needed.
- Basic report-running skills.
Responsibilities
- Abstracts information from the patient's medical record and inputs into Electronic Registry Services Software.
- Codes topography and morphology of tumor cases using ICD-O-3.
- Codes data items using FORDS manual, SEER General Summary Staging manual, and TNM Staging Manual.
- Completes an annual follow-up of living patients by sending physician, facility, and patient letters.
- Performs casefinding procedures. Includes reviewing material to input patient information into suspense file.
- Learns Oncology Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
- Learns American College of Surgeons (ACOS) ten standards and policies in order to understand cancer registry functions.
