About The Position

The Cancer Registrar oversees the day-to-day operations of the Cancer Registry. This individual obtains information on diagnosed cancer cases on a continuous basis, according to the American College of Surgeons recommended procedures, and functions using the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent or equitable experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and various medical specialties
• Working knowledge of daily operations in the Cancer Registry Department
• Thorough understanding of ICD-O coding system and TNM staging process

Nice To Haves

• Certified Tumor Registrar/ Oncology Data Specialist
• Understanding of Floyd Medical Center’s current cancer abstracting prog
