About The Position

The Can Line Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing on high-speed canning line equipment, including seamers, fillers, packers, cartoners, palletizers, and conveyor systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing maintenance preferably within food or beverage
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Double-seam certification or formal seamer training
  • Experience supporting can line startups and commissioning activities
  • Working knowledge of PLC and VFD
  • Welding and machinery experience

Responsibilities

  • Execute equipment setups, changeovers, and precision adjustments to ensure seamer integrity, fill accuracy, and overall packaging quality.
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with OEM and plant standards, diagnoses root causes of equipment failures, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document work orders and maintenance activities within the CMMS, collaborating closely with Production, Quality, and Controls teams, and assisting with equipment rebuilds, overhauls, installations, and can line startups.
  • Strict adherence to safety standards, GMP requirements, and food manufacturing compliance is essential.
  • Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, lift to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work flexible schedules including overtime as needed.
