About The Position

Campus Security Assistant Site to be determined 2025-2026 School Year ONLY Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in security, law enforcement, education, or working with youth preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in emergencies or high-stress situations. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and law enforcement. Basic knowledge of safety practices and emergency response procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and procedures. Valid New Mexico Driver’s License Certificate of completion (or obtain within six months of hire) for: DOT - Defensive Driving Course FEMA IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System FEMA IS-700.B: Introduction to the National Incident Management System CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) FA/CPR Certification Stop the Bleed DOT Physical Job Skills: Basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. Monitor school grounds, buildings, hallways, parking lots, and perimeter for safety and security concerns. Assist in maintaining order before, during, and after school, including lunch, passing periods, arrival, and dismissal times. Enforce district and site rules, policies, and procedures with fairness and consistency. Respond to disturbances, incidents, or unauthorized activities and report them promptly to the administration. Supervise students to ensure safe behavior and promote positive decision-making. Assist in emergency drills and procedures, including lockdowns, evacuations, fire drills, and shelter-in-place situations. Support administrators, teachers, and law enforcement, when necessary, in maintaining campus safety. Document incidents, accidents, or security concerns according to district policy. Assist with visitor check-in procedures and ensure adherence to site access rules. Serve as a visible and approachable presence to deter misconduct and promote a safe school culture. Follow the approved Code of Ethics, as outlined in G-0650©GBEA STAFF ETHICS. Uphold school rules, policies, and laws, as described in G-0750©GBEB STAFF CONDUCT. Maintain confidentiality as required by district policies. Implement the district’s mission and goals. Complete all required pre-employment and annual training. Pass a background check as required by House Bill 128. Max Pay Based on Years of Experience
