SUMMARY: This position is accountable for the safety and security of campus as well as armed patrol operations and performing investigative duties. This is a 1st shift position, with hours from 7pm-7am. Regularly scheduled hours of 1-2 12-hour shifts per week rotating on a 3-week basis. This is a part-time position with some limited benefits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Perform patrol duties by patrolling the campus on foot or car; and performing safety and security checks to ensure safety and security of staff, students and buildings. Enforce policies and regulations of the University. Establish and maintain the investigation process by responding to incidents, generating reports, distributing report information to appropriate persons, visiting incident scenes, gathering all pertinent data, and keeping track of campus events to ensure timely and effective investigations. Provide security for special events by conducting parking details and providing building security to ensure necessary safety of outside performers. Assist in maintaining the University’s compliance with campus regulations such as Clery and Annual Fire Safety. Cooperate with local police departments and safety teams of nearby institutions in promoting a safe environment on and around the campus area. Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE This position requires an Associate’s degree (A.A) from a two-year college or technical school; one to three years experience (in the field of criminal justice); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
