About The Position

Messiah Lifeways is a non-profit organization located in Mechanicsburg, PA, that provides a network of services for adults, 55 and better living in South Central PA. Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love.

The Campus Safety Coordinator provides oversight of our campus safety and security procedures, as well as acts as a liaison with our contracted security vendor. In addition, the Coordinator acts in a safety role to secure and protect the property and facilities within the Messiah Lifeways Campus to provide a safe and secure environment for Messiah Lifeways residents, team members, visitors and vendors. The Campus Safety Coordinator has the ability to have a schedule between the hours of 8AM – 6PM, with a requirement of 1 weekend a month , and a rotating holiday schedule. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following: Strong Initiative and Work Ethic –Takes a proactive approach to daily duties, displays motivation, and maintains a positive attitude toward work and responsibilities. Proficient technology skills - Office Suite (Microsoft) and work order management technology Proficient interpersonal skills - Able to communicate effectively, representing the organization in a professional and engaging manner

Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ security experience (required)
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or willingness to obtain (required)

Nice To Haves

• In a Healthcare setting (preferred, but not required)
• Minimum of 1 year leadership or supervisory experience (preferred, but not required)
• Previous law enforcement or military experience (preferred, but not required)
• Willingness to obtain other safety/security or emergency management certifications as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Ability to provide leadership to vendor security team, including but not limited to the following: Training and orientation support Schedule management Acting as a designee during Life Safety Manager absences to support the Campus Services Team.
• Actively exhibits responsibility for campus safety, security, and emergency management. This includes response to and/or report to Life Safety Manager to ensure concerns are monitored and managed. The Campus Safety Coordinator should complete necessary response and follow-up to campus concerns at all times.
• Ability to complete required shift security and campus rounding check-ins and operate associated software. Rounds will include, but are not limited to, buildings, parking areas, and roadways throughout the assigned shift.
• Safely operate the Messiah Lifeways assigned security vehicle for security rounds.
• Ability to complete any training necessary to adequately perform in the role.
• Maintains constant and respectful communication.
• Respond to medical/emergency Residential Living calls based upon current policy.
• Respond to medical/emergency Enhanced Living & Skilled Nursing calls while escorting EMS responders to/from their destination.
