About The Position
The position involves enforcing all College policies and procedures set forth by the John A. Logan College Board of Trustees, as well as Illinois state laws. The individual will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting College properties and assets, ensuring the safety of staff, faculty, students, and the public. The role requires the ability to obtain and hold a valid Illinois Firearms Owner Identification card, wear body armor, and regularly qualify with a duty weapon. Additionally, the candidate must be able to write detailed coherent reports, engage a diverse population in conversation, and work a varied schedule. The position requires a self-starter who can work unsupervised and follow orders, with other duties assigned as necessary. All duties must be performed on the John A. Logan campus or designated locations.
