About the position
As a Retail Sales Planning Lead, responsible for optimizing the shopping experience and maximizing retail sales, you will use your knowledge of interior design to provide guidance on layout, color, style and accessories for residential and business customers who need advice on how to decorate their homes, offices, or businesses. You will utilize specialized knowledge and training to sell specialized home furnishing solutions, such as kitchens, bath, storage systems, and services. Your role will involve creating relationships with customers to identify their needs and provide support before, during and after the sales. You will also be responsible for ensuring customer orders are correct and to specification, driving repeat visitation to the IKEA stores, and overseeing day-to-day operations when assigned. Additionally, you will ensure a safe and secure work environment and partner with Safety & Security to adhere to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on interior design for residential and business customers.
- Sell specialized home furnishing solutions such as kitchens and storage systems.
- Create relationships with customers to identify their needs.
- Ensure customer orders are correct and to specification.
- Drive repeat visitation to IKEA stores by providing a great shopping experience.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including opening and closing duties.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment.
- Partner with Safety & Security to adhere to policies and procedures.
- Implement working routines and follow up on compliance related to the role.
Requirements
- 3 years' experience in retail.
- Previous retail selling experience.
- Experience in a consultative sales environment.
- Experience leading change initiatives in a retail space.
- Experience in designing kitchen and bath preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided).
