The Campus Content Instructional Specialist (CCIS) for Math at Salyards Middle School is responsible for coordinating curriculum and instruction with district curriculum coordinators, ensuring fidelity and implementing Differentiated Instruction. This role involves assisting with student achievement interventions, including the Response to Intervention (RtI) model, in collaboration with the Academic Achievement Specialist. The CCIS will coach teachers on research-based instructional strategies, technology, and content-specific knowledge through professional development, and facilitate vertical alignment across three grade levels. Key duties include increasing rigor and student engagement, modeling expert lessons, observing classroom instruction, and providing follow-up coaching sessions. The specialist will also support teachers in the classroom, provide direct instruction to students as needed, and collaborate with teams on lesson and assessment development aligned with content scope/sequence and TEKS. Furthermore, the CCIS will facilitate the use of iXplore for lesson planning, resource selection, assessments, data analysis, and instructional decisions, guiding teams through data analysis to adjust teaching strategies. Administrative tasks include attending district meetings, facilitating campus representation at share sessions, serving as a communication liaison between teachers, administration, and district staff, distributing and collecting paperwork, and managing the content-area budget, resources, supplies, and equipment. The CCIS will regularly meet with the principal and director of instruction to discuss progress towards campus goals and perform other assigned duties, with regular and reliable attendance being essential.
