AZACS was awarded the 2023/2024 National ESEA Distinguished Schools Award for Arizona, and the 2022 YASS Prize for innovation in education and providing a transformational experience by expanding unique individualized learning programs for autism charter schools. Arizona Autism Charter Schools (AZACS) is seeking a person with leadership experience to serve as Campus Assistant Director at our Phoenix Main Campus, which serves students in grades 4 through 12. Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Directors, the Assistant Director will ensure compliance with Special Education at the campus level. This role will also ensure the high-quality implementation of special education programs on the campus. Candidates must be experienced in IDEA law, the special education process, and timelines, and have the ability to train staff in these areas to ensure compliance with the charter. Candidates should also be fluent and confident when interfacing with the Arizona Department of Education, Exceptional Student Services Department. This person will work hand-in-hand with the Campus Directors and Executive Team to promote a positive school culture that focuses on implementing a best-practice educational model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum as well as students with other special needs.
