  • Perform architectural design functions by preparing schematics, working drawings, and specifications for complex projects.
  • Coordinate projects including scheduling, budgeting, monitoring costs, and resolving client issues.
  • Select and manage the services of architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Conduct periodic construction inspections and prepare reports for appropriate personnel.
  • Collect data for formulating university design standards and maintain approved design criteria and code compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the design and production of drawings and specifications with required disciplines within the department.
  • Coordinate with internal and external units to receive and distribute estimates and bids of construction costs for user/client approval.
  • B.S. in Architecture for Level I; additional experience and licensure required for higher levels.
  • 2-8 years of experience in principles and practices of architectural design depending on the level.
  • Licensed as an Architect in the state of Alabama for levels 4, 5, and 6.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
