About The Position

Person will provide assistant to programming staff during Camp Wesley program at designated location. This camp provides organized team and individual health and wellness activities for children. Organization’s Mission: Methodist Healthcare Ministries is a private, faith-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating access to health care for the uninsured through direct services, community partnerships and strategic grant-making in 74 counties across Texas. High school student ages 16-18 years old.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to provide customer service and have communication skills.
Ability to interact with team members and end-users.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Demonstrates working knowledge of the Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel applications.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to Recreation & Enrichment program staff.
Follow guidelines, policies, and procedures, established by organization, codes of conduct, dress, and decorum
Provide assistance for camp staff and all group and camp wide activities and events.
Complete all necessary safety training to include: (first aide, CPR, Child protection training, food handling, etc.)
Assist with keeping track of group lists and activity schedules.
Participate in staff meetings.
Assist with the supervision of campers to ensure that health and safety remain a priority.
Initiate and maintain a sound working relationship with other camp personnel.
Eat meals with campers and encourage healthy eating and exercise habits.
Supports distribution of programming resources.
Cheerfully comply with unanticipated assignments and remain flexible for contingency plans. Other work as assigned by Program Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned.
