Under the direction of the Director of Camping Services and in accordance with the purpose, policy and principles of the YMCA of Central New Mexico, this position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. A support staff member at the YMCA of New Mexico maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all youth, and provides a quality experience to both youth and their families. Support Staff members assist our counselors, cooks, administrative and maintenance staff to make each week the best one yet. These folks work behind the scenes to make sure our facilities are clean and well cared for. They assist making each program area ready in advance or clean up afterward so the campers can focus on getting the most out of their experiences at camp. A support staff will work with the larger team to accomplish the goals of Camp Shaver: accomplishment, belonging and character development. Schedule is Monday-Friday, and weekends as assigned for the season.
