About The Position

This position may be able to meet some internship requirements. The Multi-media Camp Counselor is responsible for capturing and curating camp experiences through photography, videography, and social media content. This role involves screening photographs to ensure compliance with safety activity checkpoints, conducting interviews with campers, parents, and staff, and creating engaging content for current and future camp promotions. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in media editing tools, and adherence to confidentiality and safety standards, as well as brand standards, are essential for success in this role. This position will assist with other typical camp counselor duties and will live in a unit with campers throughout the summer.

Requirements

  • Experience with photography, videography, and editing software.
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and videos of campers and staff during daily activities to document the camp experience.
  • Work with other camp staff to ensure each camper is photographed daily, capturing their engagement and enjoyment in camp activities.
  • Organize, screen, and upload daily camper photos to the designated photo-sharing platform for families.
  • Produce weekly slideshows to showcase camper experiences and a season-end video for staff and promotional purposes.
  • Work collaboratively with camp leadership and Girl Scouts – Diamonds communications team to meet media-related objectives, including social media content creation.
  • Support the camp’s mission by modeling behavior consistent with the Girl Scout Law and Promise.
  • Ensure camper and staff safety by adhering to established health and safety guidelines during all activities.
  • Provide opportunities for each camper to have a positive and memorable experience through respectful interactions and encouragement.
  • Participate in staff training, meetings, and emergency procedure drills to support overall camp operations.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of opening and closing day activities for campers and families.
  • Maintain and care for all media equipment, ensuring its proper use and storage throughout the camp season.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment by offering support to camp staff in media-related or general camp responsibilities when needed or assigned.
