About The Position

Camp Site Director (Seasonal – Summer 2026) 📍 Locations: Upper West Side (2 sites) & Upper East Side (1 site) – NYC 🕒 Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday 🗓 Season: Late May – August 15 📄 Position Type: Seasonal / Temporary 💰 Pay: Based on experience/Background Training Period (Late May–Mid June): Starting at $20 per hour Camp Session (Late June–Mid August): Weekly stipend of $1,000–$1,200 per week . Your Role as Camp Site Director: The Camp Site Director is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of a summer camp location. This role serves as the on-site leader, primary liaison between vendors, school staff, and the camp operator, and the point person for staff supervision, safety, communication, and organization. You will ensure smooth daily operations, lead staff, manage logistics, oversee camper arrivals and dismissals, and maintain compliance with Department of Health requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Available to work late May through Mid-August without interruption

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in camp leadership, education, or youth programming
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Familiarity with Department of Health camp regulations preferred
  • Comfort with administrative tools (email, spreadsheets, camp software such as Amilia)
  • Collaborative, energetic, and solutions-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Daily Camp Operations Open and prepare classrooms and shared spaces each morning
  • Greet and check in with teaching staff; communicate updates and parent notes
  • Serve as liaison between camp partners, site personnel, and transportation providers
  • Lead camper drop-off and dismissal (12:30 PM half-day / 2:45 PM full-day)
  • Track daily attendance of SEITs and volunteers
  • Remain informed of all camper and staff medical needs and documentation
  • Act as lead during emergencies and ensure protocols are followed
  • Provide in-classroom and operational support as needed
  • Manage the camp photo-sharing platform
  • Coordinate lunch coverage and staff breaks
  • Maintain accurate medical, fire, and injury logs
  • Fulfill duties as a mandated reporter
  • Ensure classrooms and shared spaces are clean and organized at day’s end
  • Weekly & Administrative Duties Create weekly agendas and lead Thursday staff meetings
  • Maintain the “Need to Order” supply list and coordinate deliveries
  • Contact and schedule substitute teachers as needed
  • Communicate regularly with the Camp Supervisor, Camp Operator, and other Site Directors
  • Monitor the camp email account and update registrations and enrollment spreadsheets (Amilia)
  • Prepare for and facilitate the Department of Health annual camp inspection
