About The Position

This position is responsible for: Supervising, planning, scheduling, and monitoring the planning and delivery of program activities and events. Assists in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the Conservatory Director. Supervises all programs conducted at the camp through subordinate specialists for various programs such as aquatic/lakefront activities, nature, arts & crafts, horseback riding, bicycling, archery, outdoor skills/camping, challenge course, and audio/visual. Designs and delivers program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities. Provides faith-based guidance and role modeling to campers. Participates alongside campers during camp worship meetings and times of prayer. Leads devotional activities and faith-based songs with campers and supports the seeker’s ministry.

Requirements

• Two years of progressively responsible experience administering and developing youth programs preferred
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates Christ-like care and will be responsible for praying with campers, encouraging them spiritually, and guiding them in their Christian walk.
• While on duty, staff members conducting these ministerial responsibilities must ensure that their words, actions, and behavior align with the doctrines and theology of The Salvation Army.
• Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates camp programs based on the changing needs of campers; develops programs or assists leaders in developing programs to target the enrolled campers.
