About The Position

To further the mission of Girl Scout camp by providing excellent customer service and organization. Responsible for photographing and uploading photographs of camp programs; and assisting the Office & Communications Director in creating content that tells our camp story. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Take photographs of camp activities. Upload photographs of camp activities to camp’s photo sharing website for families. Work directly with the Digital Media Specialist to identify and execute photography and social media ideas. Be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude, behavior, and following of camp procedures. Provide excellent customer service for all camp participants, families, caregivers, and groups. Provide clerical and administrative assistance to the camp office. Apply youth development principles to empower campers, embrace diversity, aid in competency development, and build connections. Assist the Office & Communications Director in the Trading Post. Support counseling staff with daily care and supervision of campers, including assisting in evening and overnight camper supervision through conducting bed-checks and sleeping in units assigned Actively participate in all camp activities, planning and leading those assigned. Take the initiative to ensure that everyone has a great summer at camp. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 16 years or older.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in photography.
  • Experience creating content for social media.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and stay on schedule.
  • Must become a member of Girl Scouts.
  • Must have belief in and/or ability to speak with conviction about the mission and values of Girl Scouts, be willing to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law and be aware of the needs of youth in our pluralistic society.
  • Must be able to pass State and National background checks.
  • Current certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED or willingness to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with children is preferred.
