Plans, coordinates and directs the functions of the Music program; ensures the quality of programs and safety of youth at all times; provides guidance and role modeling to youth and ensures safety and a positive experience for campers. Essential Functions: Provides quality music instruction to campers. Teaches music theory as it applies to the appropriate level for playing purposes. Provides appropriate lessons for instruction time. Be responsible for the care of instruments during class. Plans, schedules, assign and monitor the students work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness. Recommends and develops activities which will develop musical abilities, motor and learning skills of students. Coordinates the program and activity within the policies and operating procedures of camp. Participates and assists in various classes as assigned. Provides constant care for the needs of the campers in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner. Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside activities. Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise programs, events and all-camp activities and camp functions. Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Some physical requirements of the Camp Music Instructor position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate music equipment and activities required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and het and varying environmental conditions. QualificationsEducation & Experience: Six months experience teaching music education and teaching experience, with the ability to play and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student preferred, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
