About The Position

This position is responsible for: Helps direct the functions of the Conservatory Music program; ensures program quality and youth safety at all times; serves as a role model for youth; and ensures a positive experience for campers. Also performs a variety of housekeeping duties for the Conservatory Music program; cleans restrooms, offices, and other camp facilities; washes, stores, and distributes linens and camper laundry.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and hear music notes.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Some physical requirements of the Camp Jr. Music Instructor/Housekeeping position could be endurance, including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to operate music equipment and perform activities.
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available.
  • Operate in daily exposure to sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality music instruction to campers.
  • Prepares students for recitals and concerts.
  • Washes camper’s laundry and returns to the counselor.
