About The Position

The Camp Executive Director at the YMCA of Central Texas is responsible for managing the operations of YMCA Camp Twin Lakes, a multi-use youth residence and day camp facility. This role involves overseeing a significant budget, ensuring the camp serves a large number of children, and enhancing community engagement through various programs and partnerships. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of management and operations experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit agency.
  • Proven ability to direct total operations through volunteer development and staff supervision.
  • Experience in fundraising, including annual and capital campaigns, grant writing, and planned giving.
  • Willingness to work hands-on when needed.
  • Experience in developing new programs and enhancing existing ones.
  • Proven ability to recruit and manage volunteers.

  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general operation of YMCA Camp Twin Lakes.
  • Manage an annual budget exceeding $3 million.
  • Ensure the camp serves an average of 600 children in day camp and over 100 in residence camp.
  • Grow Super Camp participation from 15% to 25-30% within three years.
  • Enhance outdoor education and group rentals during the off-season.
  • Extend overnight camp offerings to a minimum of 8 weeks with 90-100% occupancy.
  • Stabilize salaries with benefits to 48-50% and control operating expenses to 44-46%.
  • Create a return on investment (ROI) of 5-9% within the first three years.
  • Collaborate with branch and Metro YMCA for successful operations plans.
  • Work with COO to create an annual sales plan and event calendar.
  • Supervise staff, manage budgeting, and oversee facilities development.
