Camp Enrichment Instructor
About The Position
The YMCA of Central Texas is searching for passionate, energetic positive role models to join our Summer Camp team as Camp Enrichment Instructors at Camp Round Rock in Round Rock, TX. This position will work within our Summer Camp creating, implementing and leading the children through enrichment programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children as well as a passion for arts, cooking or science of all kinds. Our current enrichments include art, dance, STEAM, cooking, Spanish and robotics, but will expand as the needs within our communities do. This position requires the ability to teach basic skills as well as uphold the values and mission of the YMCA. This is a seasonal position that runs from late-May to mid-August
Requirements
- An enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire and motivate children to grow and develop.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and to work outdoors.
- Ability to understand the needs of youth campers and to place these needs ahead of his/her own.
- At least 18 years or older with a high school degree or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a drug test/background check.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of campers at all times through active supervision while meeting the individual needs of each child in their care.
- Model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility at all times.
- Be an appropriate, positive role model for all campers.
