GENERAL PURPOSE Responsible for the organization, operation, and supervision of assigned camps. REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, must be at least 19 years old with at least two years experience in youth related leadership required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Create, implement, and communicate lesson plans and weekly schedule. Train, supervise and evaluate staff. Conduct staff meetings and training. Organize program special events and related activities. Purchase, distribute, and maintain an inventory of supplies. Respond to concerns and complaints in a timely manner. Enforce camp rules and regulations. Guide campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities. Observe campers behavior, assess its appropriateness and apply appropriate behavior management techniques. Collect in-processing forms from parents. Obtain a list of medication. Control and administer medication based on written consent. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer. Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines. Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis. Organize, live, demonstrate, and implement the Character Counts program for coaches and parents. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
