About The Position

The Camp Director, Basketball at IMG Academy is responsible for the strategic planning, quality assurance, and growth of basketball camps and related programs. This role involves overseeing camp operations, managing staff and students, and ensuring a high-quality experience for participants. The Camp Director will work closely with various departments to promote programs and maintain staffing ratios, while also serving as a mentor and educator for student-athletes.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of youth basketball worldwide and emerging trends.
• Experience in coaching and/or playing at the professional and/or collegiate level.
• Proficiency in all basketball training and instructional techniques.
• Excellent teaching, management, communication and supervisory skills.
• Strong commitment to student-athletes and their development.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business or sport-related major.
• Management experience to include coaching.
• Bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the Basketball camp programs managing students, coaches and programs to maximize delivery, quality and overall efficiency.
• Works with Sales, Marketing and PR staffs to promote and sell programs.
• Collaborates with the Basketball Director to ensure staffing ratios are maintained to accommodate program growth.
• Sets up and manages camp program schedules.
• Assigns students into appropriate groups.
• Responsible for weekly camp orientations and introductions to the Academy and its various academic and athletic programs.
• Develops motivational approaches to practices and games.
• Interacts with camp students as a mentor and educator in the sport.
• Effectively communicates with camp students and their parents/guardians as appropriate.
• Ensures that proper safety is maintained.
• Manages time effectively, meeting personal and company goals and working effectively with other staff members.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
