About The Position

Come join our energetic, caring, and responsible staff in our day camps as a camp counselor. The ideal candidate will be available to work Monday-Friday with varying hours. Depending on which camp you work, the days are Monday-Friday or M/W/F. Typical hours range from 4-8 hours. This seasonal position runs June 8-August 7, with required training taking place the week of June 1st. Minimum age is 16 years old Schedule: Training: June 2, 2025 10am-2pm June 3, 2025 10am-2pm June 4, 2025 10am-2pm subject to change and additional hours as needed Day Camp June 8, 2026-August 7, 2026 Camelot (M-F) 9am-3pm (AM care 7-9 and PM care 3-6) Pioneer (M-F or MWF option) - 9am-3pm (AM care 7-9 and PM care 3-6) Frontier (M-F) 9am-3pm (AM care 7-9 and PM care 3-6) Juliette Low (M-F) - 9am-3pm (AM care 7-9 and PM care 3-6) ARC (M-W-F) - 9am-3pm (AM care 7-9 and PM care 3-6) No Camp at any site July 3rd Kal Camp June 8, 2026-August 7, 2026 Camelot (M-F) 9am-1pm / extended care- 1-3pm Heritage (M-F) 9am-1pm/ extended care- 1-3pm Pioneer (M-F) 9am-1pm/ extended care- 1-3pm No Camp at any site July 3rd

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old at the start of the Day Camp program.
  • Previous experience in child care or supervising children's activities preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with children, coworkers, and the public.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, follow directions, and complete tasks independently.
  • Capable of maintaining composure in high-activity and emergency situations; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and the ability to handle challenges with a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in child care or supervising children's activities preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in creating an activity agenda for the day camp group for which the employee is directly responsible
  • Assists in organizing and structuring large and small group activities
  • Sets up and participates in day camp activities
  • Cleans up after activities and at the end of the day
  • Maintains head counts of campers in the morning, at swim times, and throughout the day
  • Supervises campers and is present on the pool deck and in the water during swim times
  • Enforces safety rules during day camp activities
  • Notifies the Day Camp Site Director and Day Camp Assistant Site Director of problems or concerns with individual campers or staff members
  • Administers first aid to staff and campers, as needed
